Use the Prompt composer at the bottom of the AI panel to tell ChatCut what outcome you want and which project content the request should use.
Enter and send a task
- Open the AI panel and select Agent or Video Gen at the lower-left of the composer.
- Enter the desired result in the Prompt field. In Agent mode, state the editing goal and any conditions that must remain unchanged.
- Add attachments or
@references when the task depends on specific content. - Review any attached Skill, style, voice, or video model shown below the field.
- Select Send message.
The Send button remains unavailable when the draft has no usable instruction or when required inputs are still missing.
Upload attachments
Select Upload (+) below the Prompt field and choose the context files for this request. An attachment is available to the current AI message; it does not automatically become a reusable project asset or a Timeline clip.
Use My Assets → Upload when a video, image, or audio file should live in the project, be dragged onto the Timeline, or be reused by later tasks. If an attachment is rejected, use the visible file message rather than repeatedly sending the same unsupported file.
Add @ references
Enter @ in the Prompt field to open the reference menu, or use Selection Mode. References can identify exact assets, Timeline items, time positions, Viewer regions, or Transcript selections.
A reference tells the Agent what “this clip,” “here,” or “these words” means at send time. Check the reference chip before sending, especially after switching the active Timeline or deleting the referenced content.
Stop or continue
While an Agent or Video Gen task can still be cancelled, Stop replaces the normal Send button. Select it—or press Escape while the stop control is active—to ask ChatCut to halt the current work.
Stopping does not undo edits that were already applied. Review the Timeline and use Undo or a saved Version if completed changes should be reversed.
Continue is not a permanent composer button. It appears when an Agent task pauses because it reached its work limit. Choose Continue to resume from the current project state without repeating completed work, or choose Stop here to end that task. You can also send a new, more specific request after reviewing what is already complete.
