Agent Settings controls how the current Agent works and which generation confirmations ChatCut may skip. Open it from the sliders button beside Agent at the lower-left of the Prompt composer.
Open Agent Settings
- Open the AI panel.
- Make sure the composer is in Agent mode.
- Select the sliders button labeled Agent settings beside the mode selector.
The button is not the Video settings control used in Video Gen mode.
Thinking Mode
Turn Thinking Mode on when the Agent should spend more effort planning a complex, multi-step edit. Turn it off for a simpler task when the control is available.
Some selected agents or models require thinking. In that case, the switch remains on and ChatCut explains why it is locked.
Desktop agent options
When a selected Desktop agent supports them, Agent Settings also shows its model and reasoning-effort controls. If those controls are absent, the agent manages them automatically. See ChatCut Desktop to choose ChatCut, Claude Code, or Codex CLI.
Motion Graphics Quality
Choose Speed, Balance, or Quality under Motion Graphics Quality:
- Speed: fastest iteration and simpler results.
- Balance: the default tradeoff between speed and quality.
- Quality: best results and the slowest option.
Generation Auto-Allow
Open Generation Auto-Allow to manage automatic approval separately for Motion Graphics, Video Generation, and Image Generation. An entry marked Global applies to all projects; otherwise the preference applies to the current project.
Turning a switch off restores the matching confirmation flow. This setting controls approval, not whether the action uses credits or whether the current account can access the feature.
The confirmation card itself is explained under Generation Confirmations and Auto-Allow.
