Collaboration is free for everyone — there’s no paid tier for working together. ChatCut gives you two ways to share: a view-only link so people can watch your finished video, and an invite link that lets someone edit the project with you.
How do I share a finished video for viewing?
Creating a watch link is optional; a normal cloud export does not create one automatically.
- Select Export in the editor header, then open Video.
- Under Share, enable Create share link. The main button changes to Export and Share or Export Zone and Share.
- Start the export. ChatCut creates a
/v/…watch link and tries to copy it to your clipboard. If automatic copying is blocked, use Copy link in the confirmation message. - Send that link to the viewer. They can open the player without a ChatCut account; while the export is still rendering, the page shows its current status.
The rendered video behind a watch link is kept for one day by the current cloud-share service. Treat it as a short-lived review link, not permanent video hosting. Export and download the file itself when you need a durable delivery copy.
How do I invite someone to edit with me?
Select Share beside the project name in the editor header. In Invite teammates to edit with you in real time, the owner selects Create invite link, then Copy link. The resulting /share-claim/… URL is different from a watch link. When the recipient opens it and signs in, accepting adds them to the project as an editor.
Invited editors can do normal editing work, including uploading media, changing the project, and running generations. There are two project roles—owner and editor—so there is no comment-only collaborator role. Use a watch link instead when someone should only review an exported video.
How do I see and manage who’s on a project?
The share dialog lists everyone on the project (“Members · N”) with their avatar, display name, and email, and marks the owner with an “Owner” badge.
How do I remove access?
- Revoke the current invite link: in the Share dialog, select Revoke link. People who have not joined can no longer use it; existing members keep their access.
- Remove a member: removing someone takes effect immediately and also revokes all of the project’s active invite links, so a removed collaborator can’t rejoin with an old link. Re-share a fresh link to let the remaining people back in if needed.

How do ChatCut share links work?
ChatCut has two link types with separate lifecycles:
- A
/v/…watch link is created only when Create share link is enabled during a video export. It is for viewing the rendered Timeline without signing in, and its rendered media is short-lived. - A
/share-claim/…invite link comes from the project Share dialog. A signed-in recipient uses it to join as an editor. The owner can revoke the invite without removing people who have already joined.
Do not send an invite link when you only want feedback on a finished export: it grants project editing access after the recipient accepts it.
