Motion Graphics include titles, lower thirds, callouts, data charts, diagrams, and animated overlays. Ask AI to create one from scratch, add an existing graphic from Templates, and use a Design Style for consistent visuals.
What do I need before writing the prompt?
- First check whether Templates already contains a suitable graphic. Ask AI to build one from scratch when an existing template does not fit.
- Prepare the final text, numbers, logos, or images, plus the timeline position, duration, and placement in the frame.
- Optionally prepare brand colors, fonts, reference screenshots, or a saved Design Style.
- If the graphic explains existing content, plan to use
@for the clip, time, or transcript selection.
Prompts you can copy
Add a four-second lower third where @speaker first appears. Use “Lin Yue” as the name and “Product Designer” as the title. Use a clean black-and-white design, slide it in from the left, and fade it before the end.
Create an editable donut-chart Motion Graphic from @sales-data with percentages for three channels. Use my @brand-style and place it at 00:18 for six seconds.
Update @current-motion-graphic: change the headline to “Ship faster,” make the accent blue, and place the logo in the upper-right corner. Keep its animation and timeline position unchanged.
Create with AI
- Optionally add brand references or a Design Style, and use
@to identify the placement or source content. - Describe the content, hierarchy, colors, animation, duration, and position.
- Send the request. If a generation confirmation appears, check the estimate and allow it.
- Review the result in the Viewer and timeline. For revisions, reference the graphic and state exactly which properties should change.
Add one manually from Templates
- Open Templates in the media panel.
- Browse or search, then select a card to preview it.
- Select Add to timeline to place it at the playhead, or drag the card to the timeline.
- Select Use with AI to attach the template to the current AI draft instead of placing it immediately.
Title cards, lower thirds, charts, and other animations in Templates are Motion Graphics. Use AI for a new design when a supplied template does not fit.
Apply a Design Style
Open Design Style below the AI composer and choose a supplied style or one from My Styles. The selected style guides Motion Graphics generated afterward; it does not automatically restyle every graphic already on the timeline.
Edit in the Motion Graphics Editor
Direct element selection is available in ChatCut Desktop 0.3.13 or later. On other surfaces, ask the Agent to make structural, animation, or element-level changes.
- Select one Motion Graphic on the timeline. The canvas enters its editable state.
- Hover over text, colors, and other editable elements in the Viewer. A blue outline identifies direct controls.
- Select an element to edit text, font, color, and other exposed properties. Drag an element on the canvas to reposition it.
- Ask AI for structural or animation changes that do not have a direct control.
- Press Esc once to close the property controls and again to exit graphic editing.
Save it as a reusable template
Select one Motion Graphic in My Assets, open the asset card’s context menu, and choose Add as template to Favorite. ChatCut creates a reusable entry under Templates → Favorite and keeps the original graphic in the project.
Transparent delivery uses Export → Graphics. See Library and Templates, Design Styles / My Styles, and Export Transparent Motion Graphics.
